Fuji music icon K1 De Ultimate (King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal) is currently grounded—literally. In a dramatic airport incident at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, the Grammy-nominated legend allegedly blocked a ValueJet aircraft on the tarmac after refusing to surrender a flask containing what aviation security deemed a suspicious liquid. The saga escalated when he allegedly poured the contents—later identified as alcohol—on an AVSEC officer, prompting a full-blown investigation. FAAN, NCAA officials, and Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo wasted no time: K1 was slapped with a six-month no-fly ban, and airlines were warned not to violate the order. The NCAA has even petitioned the AGF and IGP to prosecute him over what they’re calling a “hostage-style” violation of airport safety protocols . In response, K1’s media team insisted the flask only contained plain drinking water, and claimed ValueJet executives personally apologized—offering him a private jet ride he declined . Still, the disruption was serious enough to warrant immediate penalties—including suspensions for two ValueJet pilots and a Tuesday morning madness that’s now the talk of every timeline
