Iyabo Ojo is clapping back hard at social media activist VeryDarkMan amid shocking allegations about a WhatsApp group tied to the late singer Mohbad’s death. VeryDarkMan claimed in a viral video that Iyabo Ojo, alongside others like Samklef, Dre (Davido’s associate), and actor Jigan Baba Oja, coordinated a secret group chat dedicated to manipulating public sentiment and derailing the quest for justice. According to him, that same chat supposedly orchestrated his arrest and blackmail after he demanded a full investigation into Mohbad’s final hours and raised questions about the paternity of Mohbad’s son . He went on to say the leak of an intimate video and his detainment were deliberate moves by the group to discredit him and silence dissent. VDM vowed to expose the full content of the chat, accusing members of planning smear campaigns and narrative control . In response, Iyabo Ojo posted a lengthy Instagram message that mixed dignity with evidence. She admitted she helped form a public WhatsApp group—but insisted it was created transparently to mobilize support and coordination after the Mohbad justice walk was canceled. Those groups, she explained, were never secret and were intended to organize peaceful citizen action, not cover-up conspiracies . She shared that her initial video had invited all well-meaning Nigerians, and split into two role-gray groups to mobilize and plan further activism. She also emphasized her refusal to tolerate slut-shaming or character attacks aimed at silencing her, drawing parallels to past false accusations leveled at her. She attacked the allegations as "lies milled repeatedly to appear true" and vowed to defend her legacy publicly and unapologetically . Iyabo challenged VDM to present concrete proof if he wanted to tarnish her name—and made clear she's not afraid to expose the truth. As of now, none of the other named celebrities—Samklef, Dre, Jigan—have issued official statements. But public opinion is divided. Some argue VDM’s activism pushed too far without verifying facts; others insist his efforts remain vital in holding powerful figures accountable. Meanwhile, fans on Twitter and Instagram are demanding transparency or a retraction. Whether this becomes a legal battle, a PR crisis, or another chapter in Mohbad’s unsettled legacy, one thing remains clear: a Nollywood icon and a digital watchdog are locked in a public debate about truth, influence, and the limits of activism in an era where every message leaks.
