Police Academy Decorates 18 Newly Promoted Officers in Wudil Ceremony

The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil–Kano State, held a formal decoration ceremony on October 31, 2025, to honor officers recently promoted under the welfare initiatives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, PhD. The event underscored the Force’s commitment to recognizing hard work, discipline, and professional excellence. Among those decorated was CSP Ahidjo Mohammed, Officer-in-Charge of the Operations Department, who rose from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). Also honored were 17 officers promoted from Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II) to ASP I. The Commandant of the Academy, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, MSc (UK), MBA (USA), psc, congratulated the officers and emphasized that promotion comes with increased expectations and responsibility. In his words, “You now carry the trust of the system, the hope of upcoming officers, and the expectations of your superiors.” He praised the officers' dedication and urged them to uphold the values of the Academy and the Force at large. AIG Atayero also acknowledged the support of family and colleagues, recognizing their role in the success of the officers. The atmosphere at the event was one of pride, discipline, and celebration as the Academy reaffirmed its mission to produce competent and ethical police professionals. The ceremony concluded with the Commandant extending the IGP’s congratulations to all the newly promoted officers, encouraging them to remain focused and steadfast in their duties.
